Mediation
Mediation
Partners create a safe environment that equalizes the power
of the parties, encourages the truth and allows both sides
to succeed. Mediators do not judge or determine the outcome
but rather ask questions and explore the reasons,
underlying interests and issues that are preventing
solutions. When disputes are resolved using this proven
win/win approach, innovative outcomes emerge and individual
integrity is maintained.
Business, Organizational and Community
Mediation
Business
partnerships, professional and neighborhood associations,
non-profit organizations, guilds and others are often faced
with disputes which threaten their stability and public
stature. Mediation, one-on-one or in a group setting,
engages participants in a collaborative negotiation process
so that all parties’ needs and interests are addressed and
workable resolutions created. Often through this
facilitative mediation approach, parties find themselves
able to construct new working relationships and systems
that allow them to continue to work together more
effectively.
Family
Mediation
Divorce, Domestic Partnerships,
Parenting Plans, Parent-Child Relationship, Elder Mediation
In all family mediation situations, the goal is to create
specific agreements that reflect each participant’s needs.
Through these sessions, families experience more effective
ways to communicate, reach new understandings, build trust,
and solve problems. They take with them their agreement,
the resolution of the specific conflict and most
importantly, useful tools to be used is future disputes
arise.
Our work with parents and their teens is a unique mediation
program which can help families break the cycle of
conflict, open up dialogue and collaborative
problem-solving and begin to rebuild trust and connection.
Elder mediation is a relatively new area made necessary as
more of the “Sandwich generation” find themselves dealing
with sensitive and serious issues around the care of their
aging parents. Struggles between family members or parents
and their adult children need thoughtful and often
difficult conversations to get through these hard family
changes. Mediation can offer the supportive space for
families to make decisions which will honor and preserve
family relationships.

brainstorming, collaboration and effective feedback,
organizations and individuals develop action plans,
accountability and commitments to successful outcomes.

effective leadership, constructively engage conflict and

supportive confrontation help individuals maximize their
contribution of talents, skills and abilities to the
organizations and individuals with whom they work.
